Office of the Defense Attache (DAO)

"Representing the United States Military in Croatia"

The DAO manages bilateral defense relations with Croatia's Ministry of Defense (MoD) to upgrade the capabilities of Croatia's armed forces and to improve professionalism, organization, and inter-operability with NATO forces, with the goal of Croatian membership in NATO. The DAO works with the MoD to mount joint military exercises, and also organizes all ship visits by U.S. naval vessels to Croatia.

The United States Defense Attache Office (USDAO) Zagreb represents the United States Military in Croatia. The United States' defense forces include the Army, the Navy, the Air Force, the Marine Corps, the National Guard, and, in particular circumstances, the Coast Guard and the Merchant Marine.
